Our Lady of Ransom Church, Philadelphia, PA

PREP is Our Lady of Ransom Parish Religious Education Program which provides spiritual, moral and sacramental catechesis and formation to our public school children. The teachings of Christian doctrine are imparted in an organic and systematic way with a view to initiating the participants into the fullness of Christian life.

At present PREP ranges from Kindergarten to Junior High level in conjunction with parents’ religious home faith formation. PREP classes are on Sunday morning from September to May from 9:45 to 11:00 to 11:55 which includes Mass. Students report to the school building at 9:45AM. Following classroom instruction, students will meet parents in the church for the 11AM Mass. Level 2 prepares for the Sacrament of First Reconciliation; Level 3, First Eucharist; and Level 6, Confirmation. For more information or registration please call Teena Weisler at 215-708-2495.

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.) is the process for initiation into the Catholic Church for unbaptized persons, baptized Christians who seek full communion with the Catholic Church, and baptized Catholics who need to receive the sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation.
