LITURGICAL MINISTRIES Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist with the distribution of Holy Communion at Sunday, Holy Day and weekday Masses. They also assist in bringing the Eucharist to our homebound parishioners. Extraordinary Ministers are appointed by the Pastor and participate in periodic workshops and formation sessions. Readers proclaim the Word of God from the Lectionary at various liturgical celebrations with primary emphasis on Sunday, Holy Day and daily Masses. Readers participate in periodic workshops and formation sessions. Music Ministers enhance our liturgical celebrations with their musical gifts. Altar Servers serve at various liturgical celebrations with primary emphasis on Sunday Masses, Holy Day Masses, weddings and funerals. Altar servers are boys and girls in grades 6 to 8. They participate in periodic workshops and formation sessions. Greeters are ministers of hospitality. Greeters arrive 15 minutes before the start of Mass and place themselves at the entrances of the church to extend a warm welcome and provide a hymnal to all who come to worship with us. Greeters participate in periodic workshops and formation sessions. Ushers assist with the collection of the assembly's gifts at Sunday Mass. New ushers, both men and women, are needed to serve in this important work. Ushers participate in periodic workshops and formation sessions. Gift Bearers represent the entire parish community and God's people when they bring forth the community's gifts and present the bread and wine that will become the Body and Blood of Christ. They may be individuals, couples or families. Gift bearers sign up to serve at the Mass they normally attend and participate in periodic workshops and formation sessions. Art and Environment Committee members and other parishioners offer their services throughout the year to assist in decorating the Church according to the liturgical seasons and for special events. Notices are placed in the parish bulletin when assistance is needed. Altar Society members make sure that all linens, vestments and vessels used in the celebration of daily and weekend Masses are clean and ready for use. Liturgy Committee members meet monthly to plan upcoming liturgies throughout the year. Members are appointed by the Pastor and participate in periodic workshops and formation sessions.
